Mountain and other bike hire

Betws Bikes is the nearest bike hire and seems to offer a pretty comprehensive service. The Marin Trail is much praised in the mountain biking fraternity. The community-developed Penmachno trail is not widely advertised. Antur Stiniog offers downhill mountain biking and a great range of other outdoor activities.

Pony trekking

Gwydir Stables Riding & Trekking Centre, Penmachno LL25 0HJ (in the next valley south) tel 01690 760248 (no website) offers a range of activities, including day-long treks over the hills to Dolwyddelan.

Surf Snowdonia

Opened in August 2015 to great fanfare and does look exciting.

Not outdoors exactly, but a big attraction and nearby. Imagine giant trampolines, walkways, slides and tunnels all made from netting. Now picture this suspended in a slate cavern hidden underground and you’ll have the right idea.

Tree Top Adventure Wales

Tree Top Adventure is a unique, fully equipped high ropes centre available to a wide range of customers.

The adventure started in May 2007 where Tree Top Adventure was running out of a portacabin. Things are a little different here now as Tree Top Adventure has and still is growing in size and adventure. Offering a fuller range of activities to a wider range of people.
